Who I am

Maria Clotilde Schenetti has been painting for over 30 years, after having studied for seven years with Francesca Mazzacurati.
Clo’s paintings are composed of images that are informal, abstract, and rich in evanescent childhood memories. Strong colors that are never exaggerated but elegantly mixed are rich with fantasy, creativity, and a particular sense of beauty that communicates through the kindness of the paintings.
Her iconic story narrates dreams with open eyes. Every painting is rich with emotion, new sensations, and new visions. An alchemy of forms and suspended colors shines through, arriving at a representation of existence through an introspective search for the “Self.”
Her contemporary art of immediate expression, of estrangement from reality is therefore the description of interior forms. It is infinite liberty. It is composed and dissolved to then reconstitute, without ever knowing creative limits. It is not a limit, but emotion that inspires when we see an image; it conducts us directly to a truth that before we did not see.
How can we not hear her jets of ink, that seems to tell us that color has the strength of water? The same strength as when we fall overwhelmed. It’s the magic, eccentric atmosphere that creates fables.
It is poetry that we see between signs just hinted with figures, with ambient shapes, of trees in the sky.
She loves mixed media, different colors and techniques, the inks are congenial, and she uses them with a unique, distinguishing touch.
Maria Clotilde Schenetti lives and works in Sassuolo.
She participates in numerous exhibitions.
