Introduction to contemporary art and children's art by Tina de Falco

The exhibition can be visited during school hours until 8 November 2016. The "Splash Museum", a unique experience which saw the commitment of many people, artists, teachers, children, did their utmost in the opening days for Festival Filosofia. Being part of it was an unforgettable honor, thanks above all to the Consorzio Festival Filosofia which considered the Splash a suitable place for the "Open for the Festival" path.
The days of the Festival were busy, but satisfying because there were many visitors and many realized the beautiful reality found in the Sassuolo area. Not a real museum, but a contemporary art gallery that exhibits works by great artists, children, artists and children together, unique in its kind because it is located within a primary school. Children experience art every day, loving it and building it. A journey of beauty education. Everyone was able to realize how many wonderful things it is possible to achieve with small artists, if appropriately valued and directed. The Splash is a museum in progress that is built every day thanks to the artists who come to us to contribute with their art to making an often forgotten suburban school beautiful. 
At the Splash there are works by Bros, Francesco Polazzi, Emidio Cocchi, Mauro Filippini, Maria Clotilde Schenetti, Caterina Lombardo, Vincenzo Marsiglia, Camm, Marta Manfredi, Carlo Moretti, Federica Toni, Simone Zuppiroli, Juri Casali, Chiara Bertoli and many others are about to arrive. Definitely a place worth visiting. The children work on specific projects, first appropriating the history of art through the learning workshops and then doing it in a practical way in the doing workshops. Often in the making workshops they are supported by artists to create choral works.
There are many university students who have done their internship at Splash. Last year we had a student of art history from Sapienza who did an internship, gaining experience with the knowledge laboratories.
Our school grows with new beauty every day and the children are proud to belong to it.
They respect the works on display without touching or ruining them, there are no acts of vandalism to the works.
Educating in beauty is however an education in "Wellbeing" as Andreoli says in his book on beauty.
My personal thanks go to my colleagues who sacrificed their weekend to shift during the opening hours, to the artists who did their utmost to publicize the event, to the parents, to the children, to the school director Maria Grazia Avallone and to the directors Rita Turrini because without her we would not have been able to carry out any project, to the director Alessandra Borghi who years ago told me you must continue to specialize in children's art.
My regret and a little disappointment goes to the Festival Consortium which in its path did not provide adequate communication for the visit to our Museum; and towards the Municipality which, after having included the Splash Museum in its program and path, did not foresee anything in terms of communication and logistical management. I also regret that in the statements of the councilor for culture and the councilor for public education, due to the success of the festival in the city, there was not even a mention of the Splash Museum.
A truly heartfelt thank you, as creator and curator of the Splash events, goes to Mrs. Leonardi and Mrs. Tagliavini of the Culture office.
Splash is, in my opinion, an important reality that should not be overlooked. Last year it was celebrated and inaugurated in the presence of Deputy Minister of Education Faraone, but at the same time we continue to be forgotten.
For those lucky enough to come and visit us the surprise is immense; but what should be done to have more consideration from a cultural point of view?
We would like to have the opportunity to open it a few Saturdays a month with art projects for the entire child population of the municipality or the ceramic consortium. We are available to make our reality known but we also need to be supported by local institutions. (Tina de Falco)
