The official opening is entrusted to the poet and president emeritus of Agcom Corrado Calabrò with a lecture on poetry as a premonition and as an expectation. During the evening, the trilingual version in Italian, Czech and Chinese of Calabrò's latest collection, "A blade in honey - Cepel v medu" (Balt-East, Prague, 2012, pp. 93), sponsored by the Institute, will be presented Italian of Culture of Prague and edited by Professor Zden? K Frýbort, historical Czech translator of Umberto Eco, with the support of researcher Isaac Lee.
Ambassadors from Switzerland, Spain and Albania will participate in the event organized in collaboration with the Friends of Italy Association and the Prague committee of the Dante Alighieri society. The director of the Institute, Paolo Sabbatini, and the ambassador of Italy to the Czech Republic Pasquale D'Avino did the honors.
The "Week of the Italian language" is a cultural event promoted annually by the Italian Foreign Ministry under the high patronage of the President of the Republic. For the 2012 edition, the events will revolve around the theme "Italy of the territories and the Italy of the future", offering a very broad insight into the many forms of communication that the national identity heritage can assume. It is no coincidence that on October 23 at the Boscolo hotel, President Calabrò will discuss with the Italian business community in the Czech Republic, at the invitation of the IIC and the Italian Vision Club of Prague, addressing the theme: "Communicating in Italy and communicating Italy: challenges and opportunities ".
Numerous events promoted by the Institute. Also on 23 October, at 5.30 pm, Professor Carlo Alessandro Landini will hold a seminar on the morphogenesis of musical texts and temporal orientation disorders in contemporary music at the HAMU University in Prague. Of great academic importance is the round table dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini of the Corsairs Writings on 24 October at 5 pm in the Baroque chapel of the Institute.
After the correspondence of the great intellectual Jean Starobinski, interventions by Czech and Italian scholars will alternate (Tomaš Matras, Anežka Charvátová and Martin Putna for the Czech Republic, Alberto Nessi for Italian-speaking Switzerland, Federico Sollazzo from the University of Szeged in Hungary and Luciano Lagazzi and Federica D'Amato for Italy) under the coordination of the journalist Luigi Di Fonzo, head of the cultural page of the newspaper Il Centro. At the end of the conference, organized in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy in the Czech Republic, with the Charles IV University of Prague and with the Faculty of Economics VSE in Prague, Federica D'Amato, author of the Italian critical version of Raimondo Lullo "The book of the friend and the beloved ”, will deliver to the IIC Prague some copies of its own publication. On 25 October she will be dedicated to the traditional songs and dances of southern Italy with the folkloristic show of "pizzica" by Pina Speranza and the CilentoTarant company from Vallo della Lucania (6pm in the Chapter Hall of the Institute). In the theme of enhancement of territorial culture, the show will be followed by a tasting of Romagna piadine and wines from Campania.
The "Week of the language" also saw cooperation with local partners for the participation of the artist Tina De Falco who on October 19 inaugurated the Italian participation in the international festival of modern art TINA B at the GUD Art Gallery with the performance "Magic Carpet: Rolling on the Carpet for Happiness". The exhibition curated by De Falco consists of a large carpet spread over several rooms created by the artists Emidio Cocchi, Maria Clotilde Schenetti and Caterina Lombardo where children can roll around, play and dream while experiencing direct contact with art and giving shape to a series of unaware performances.
For lovers of comics, the Institute sponsored the meeting with the designer Marco Turrini, who has lived in Prague for over two years and is famous for his collaborations with Marvel, Image, Zenescope and Avatar Press. During the discussion with the public, the artist will illustrate his professional experiences and the new Cyber Force project that sees him involved with the Top Cow publishing house in collaboration with the "myth of comics" Marc Silvestri.
The event will be held on October 27 at 3 pm at the MeetFactory as part of the Komiks Fest 2012 (info: www.komiksfest.cz; www.meetfactory.cz).
The photographic exhibition on the Frecce Tricolori (11 October - 2 November) set up in the Institute with the collaboration of the Eleutheria Foundation and the Villa Manin Special Company, will ideally extend the Week of the language in the name of one of the most renowned and appreciated excellence in Italy in the world.
