The installation on the walls of the Cionini Library continues until January 7, the exhibition Among the clouds at the Paggeria Arte in Sassuolo: a collective that brings together very different artists, from landscape painters of the Romantic school, to writers, to illustrators who love ink, up to those who choose sculpture or environmental installations.
The theme that has been the common denominator of these artistic researches, often so heterogeneous as to be poles apart from each other, are clouds. Clots of water and air, clouds bring together the characteristics of the two elements, fluidity, the metamorphic and evocative capacity, the ability to give relief and nourishment to the earth, the privilege of flying over enormous distances and of being continuously in motion. Clouds can therefore be chosen as an emblem of post-modern artistic creation. The Milanese writer Bros trespasses from the walls of the gallery, to the external walls of the Cionini Library which overlook Piazzale della Rosa, to underline his fascination for the facades of buildings, and suspends there an installation of t-shirts, towels and underwear, all white and decorated with clouds in his typical cartoony style. The title of the work is Dirty laundry is washed in the family and hung out in the light of the clouds. Like the clouds, this installation is mobile and subject to the moods of the wind. Daniele Lunghini, who in his works represents fantastic travel devices, balloons, vessels and flying caravels, proposes a table with hot air balloons in flight, flanked by feathers. The emerging sculptor Lia Mariani has created a textile installation made of 2185 stylized clouds sewn together, wrapped in a spiral, which it is possible to enter. A work by the Modenese sculptor Cristina Roncati is visible, a woman wrapped in a cloud-shaped cloak
Maria Clotilde Schenetti from Sassuolo proposes a work on diversity, with a series of textile shapes of sheep imprisoned inside open frames, among which the black one stands out.
Among the clouds offers a varied range of styles and languages, in the name of eclecticism and 360-degree experimentation. (Luiza Samanda Turrini)
